Default Squarespot anthias?

Saw one in a LFS yesterday. I think I'd like to get one. Does anyone have this fish? What are they like to keep?

Thanks for any input

I know they like to jump. I also hear and have read, that they best in groups.

It's much like any other anthias fish. Good schooler, reef safe, only the male displays the funky colouration and if there are no males the most dominant female transforms into one.

Had my eye on one at the big Hidden Reef sale, but Seahorse_Fanatic literally snatched it from my grasp! Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

Like all anthias, they prefer nearly constant feeding.

We import the Pink square anthias, Pseudanthias pleurotaenia on a regular basis. As untamed states, they require many feedings per day as do all anthias. In our opinion, they do require a lot of room and lack of space encourages them to jump. There are a lot of Anthias available these days so you may want to look into other species if you are interested in a harem. Sunburst anthias [i]Serranocirrhitus latus[i] and Ventralis anthias Psuedanthias ventralis are a few species that do not get as large.

Can you get a specific number of Sunburst Anthis in at once? Like 12 to 15?

Thanks for the info guys. I feed my tank every night (I'm at work all day) and twice on Saturday's and Sunday's. It kinda sounds like that wouldn't be enough to keep one of these guys happy.

if you train them to eat pellets (which may take a long time), an automatic food dispenser works well for these fish

Yes, we import Sunburst anthias in larger numbers. Both small and large sizes are available. If you are interested in a large group of 12 to 15, feel free to contact Lisa or Angelo, our livestock managers, for group pricing.
