There's AT LEAST one at big al's right now.....saw him on friday. Green spotted. Looked really healthy too.

That's a shock I was hoping to find one that someone has had for awhile, I know that since mandarin's usually only eat pods they don't do well in quarantine. And let's just say that I have learned the hard way what happens when you don't quarantine a fish from the store 1st But thanks for letting me know (just realized I posted this response under my boyfriends user name oops!)

Mandarins have a unusually thick slime coat and are pretty resistant to Ich.
As much as it go's against everything we've learned, Most people add them straight to there main tank.
Your other options are to keep looking for one that's been trained to take prepared foods.
Or you could stock your QT tank with pod's for him to eat.
You must use a tank that's never been treated with copper though, It will kill the pods.
