Default New camera... Gotta play!

Fujifilm S5200's are onsale at visions $248...

Lets see what one can do - manual focus really sucks to use; need 2 fingers on the right hand + the left hand on the right side of the camera; then back to the left side... They must have thought nobody would ever use it...

Time to go play some more

I should probably dig one out eh? Nah, just playing tonight - freehanding em, seeing how the autofocus works on odd angles, where it takes good/bad pics...

Surprised this one came out as clear as this - seio 1500 (3' away) blows straight at it - usually polyps are real blurry

Is your macro mode on? You should be able to get better sharpness with that camera. Sometimes, when I'm trying to capture corals, I put the camera right against the glass to hold it still. Really crisp pictures that way.

No nostril shots Andy. I know you want to, but please...

Actually I do worse when I'm right on the glass - think there's a bit too much vibes from the seio and the AC70...

Nostril? Hell no - But I'm having a hell of a time reaching behind for the butt shot

look in the book for the minimum focusing distance, the first 2 look like your too close to me,it is sometimes better to crop it in closer than to try and get right up to the subject.

actually I was a good 18" back from the glass on all those shots, more just figuring out focus seems its actually harder to compose through the viewfinder than the rear lcd...

make the room real bright, it will increase the maximum shutter speed and cause less blur,if you have a hight iso to compinsate for the low light in the room compared to the bright tank you will get real grainy shots so the best thing to do is make the room rear bright if possible

we had that camera for sale at the store for a while. I'm not a big fan of the superzoom on it. for $289 it's quite the bargain though.

Last I checked, wasn't the rule always dark room - so you don't get glare/reflection off the glass?

10x optical is nice, haven't played with the digital zoom part yet 248 is an even better bargain
