anyone got a spare monitor?
well I came home and my monitor was dead
 so it looks like I will go to futureshop after supper and see how much a new one is... I am on my other computer as I can't get on my main computer with this puny 14" monitor as it won't handle the resolution.. hopefully I will be home tonight with a new one.Steve

well, I came home with a new moniter.. it is a 19" and nice.. I was looking at the flat ones but I couldent justify 1100.00 + for a 18"
anyways this one is big but it is suposed to be a real good one for photo ands such.. Steve

Steve, sorry I didn't get to this post until now. While it may be too late (although you could potentially return your monitor to Futureshop), check this site out: http://upgradepath.bc.ca/pc I bought a monitor there a few months ago after mine fried and the prices tend to be very comparable to what you'd get at Atic Computers or A-Power in Vancouver (after you factor in shipping).
For example: SAMSUNG 950B, 19", .26mm(H) DP Info. $327.50 SAMSUNG 900NF, 19", 0.20MM (H) DP Info. $424 The guy's name is Frank. Email him if you're interested or looking for something not shown on the site.

ya I have knowen about him for a while Canadian.. thanks for the info.. the one I ended up getting was about 100.00 nmore but it is down to 0.23 dot pitch and a flat screen.. ( plus I have a rebate
 ) plus from the quick reading I did NEC is suposed to be a good brand.. time will tell.. so far I am happy, running 1280 x 1024 at 85 Hertz.. LOL so far I have been impressed with the color and such for working on my photos so I am content Steve

sounds like you got a deal. i try never to buy pc hardware from the big box stores, there's so many better deals out there (like the post i put in the buy/sell/trade forum), but certainly, futureshop can nail it sometimes. i got my 19" for about $375 at staples. .24 dp i think, but not flat screen. but it's all good.
