Default new heater required

Hi all,

I am just about to go purchase a heater as my previous (ebo-jager) one is stuck on 92+F and for some reason, I have a feeling that my animals won't like that

Anyhow, which heater would you recommend? I have a 72gal tank.

Thanks

I would just stick with Ebo.They're about as unreliable as the rest.

I bought Won titanium heaters mainly to get away from the breakable glass ones. One of them stuck on all the time, another woudn't turn on at all. I ended up cutting the controllers off and putting a plug directly on the cord so that they always powered. They are switched by my Aquatronica controller now. As far as heaters go, they are all kinda flakey it seems, but the Ebo-Jagers seem to be better than most. My suggestion is to figure out how many watts you need, then buy two heaters that add up to that slightly more. That gives you a bit of saftey if one fails, either on or off.

I'd get two 150w heaters for a 72g. I've used Hagen heaters forever in my tanks. However, no brand of heater lasts forever. I usually get new heaters every 2-3 years to be on the safe side.

One of my heaters apparently just crapped out aswell. GFI receptacle probably just saved me from a new hair-do. Not much point in noting what kind it is since I haven't had much luck with any so far.
It would be nice to find something non glass with a reliable external controller. Maybe the best way to go is like BMW Rider noted.
