Default new 90 g setup

i've had this setup for a week now, letting the water cycle..
the rock had a bad case of hair algae growth, i scrubbed and removed as much as possible, now hoping with the use of cheato and reduced lighting it will get under control.

and with the sump setup, i removed the bio balls but the noise generated from
the this area of the sump......
what have others with this setup done? did you leave the bio balls in place and rinse them to eliminate the nitrate factory? how often to rinse them?

If you're not using the space in the bioball tower, you could just remove the drip plate and put a piece of glass or acrylic leaning vertically against the spill-over and the far right side of the bottom tray.

Here's a pic I spent a lot of time on to help illustrate:

albert with calgarys hot housing market mabey you should start drafting floor plans in your spare time.
as far as the sump goes why not just buy some bioballs or find some other media to put thier.

Dude, we're on the same track. I've had problems though. I've sent in sample work but no one has replied at all of the three places I've contacted. Clearly, the Calgary market may be hot, but the people can only handle so much awesome.

Anyway, Bioballs is a mistake. They'll cause nitrate issues in the long run.

Hey Albert,

You should invest in some high quality drafting tools.. like a ruler.

Well, let's put it this way:

You get home from work. You've been dealing with a lot of stupid people. You want to hurt someone. Scheduled bioball cleaning is up. Good times.

You could switch the bio balls out for some live rock rubble. It will give pods a place to breed, filter and cut down on the noise.
