Default External pump running temp?

i hooked up my hammerhead on 4 way ocean motion yesterday and was running it for a couple hours. it got extremly hot to the touch. is this normal??
it has 1.5" in and out and i addapted it up to a 2 inch all the way from the return to the ocean motion.

My barracuda does not get hot, only a bit warm.

Where is it getting hot? The heak sinks get pretty hot as well as the transformer part where the power cord goes into. Well at least that is the case on my Snapper and Dart pumps.

the body of the pump where the electrical motor is located, is whats getting hot. but from what you guys are saying i guess its normal

Next time you're by Rich, I'll show you the Dart at the back. You can compare it to your pump. It's decently hot around the motor housing.
