Does anyone own a blueboxfish

I just recently bought a blueboxfish I have not had any luck with feeding.Or atleast I cant see him eat but I did see him poop today.I was just wondering if anybody owns one and what do you feed him.

Yellow boxfish feeding- 2/3/04

Just a quick question, I have just acquired a yellow boxfish and I haven't noticed him eating yet, he ate at the store. <What did they feed at the store?> I feed my fish tetra marine granules, which sink to the bottom and I read that boxfish are bottom feeders so I didn't see a problem with that. <Well, good theory, but if they aren't eating it yet then time to move to something else.> I was wondering if there was something else I could try, I have never had a problem with fish eating the granules but I understand that boxfish have a specific diet, <correct. When first introduced, the Cubicus Boxfish prefers a diet of live brine shrimp or bloodworms. You could try some live brine shrimp to induce a feeding response. They're not very nutritious but seems to get them excited.

Have you tried PE Mysis yet? It's pretty oily and tends to generate a good feeding response.

Yes I tried pe mysis regular mysis,clams,spectrum pellets,have not tried brine or bloodworms.The fish is by himself in a 33 gallon tank I even tried sea veggies and regular sea weed sheets I will buy some bloodworms tomorow wich should be fine if there is nothing else in the tank correct?P.S I already own a yellow box but it seems the female (black box) And the blue ones never want to eat.I have also tried some angel fish food it has krill and sponge and a few other ingredients I also tried intice and soaking the food in garlic gaurd.

New boxfish can be picky and take a while to settle in. You certainly aren't the first person with this problem. It could take a couple weeks for him to settle in.

They can be very light sensitive so try leaving the lights off for a few days.

You could also try live backworms or hatch some brine shrimp.

I just bought some bloodworms so I will see if he will eat those.
