Default Electricians? Help wanted!

Hey folks,

Ok, so I admit it... I was surfing the junk pile at work today I've got piles and piles of "junk" control panels full of allen bradley switches, buttons contactors, timers, relays, lights, transformers, keyed lockouts - all kinds of motor / control circuitry.

I'd been thinking of picking up some of those DJ power centers to consolidate the rats nest into something reasonable looking (and safer). Suddenly I'm having more elaborate ideas...

With few exceptions, it would appear most of the switches/buttons/lockouts would easily handle anything my reef could throw at it (most are 120v/20a).

But, can anyone come up with some uses for the other stuff? Pretty sure I could make one heck of a wavemaker with the contactors and timers... Anyone have some other ideas for putting some of the other 'junk' to use?

Andy

I made a wavemaker out of micro relays and electronic timer and that makes enough noise clicking in and out. I can just imagine what magnetic contactors and timers would sound like

Yeah you might have a point there, but at the same time there was a gorgeous NEMA 8 barely touched control panel... How much sound could possibly transfer through
