Default New bulb = Noisier Ballast?

Maybe it's just me, who knows. I just put in a new Geismann 13k into my floodlamp fixture, and it seems as if my ballast is making more noise than usual? I can't even describe the sound.... like a buzzing sound, high pitched.

It's not too bad, just wondering if new bulbs = a noisier ballast?

Thanks.

PS: The Geismann looks OK over the tank. There is a slight yellow hue, but I am not using any actinics. So once this bad boy is in the AqualightPro I think it will look great. Been using 20k Ushio so it's a fairly big step down. The corals do not have nearly as much colour in them with this light... so it's a waiting game to get the aqualight pro up and running.

I was just talking to a gut at J&L last night about the Giesemann lights and he did say that although there bulbs are high quality, they seem to make the ballast buzz when starting up, infact he said it was quite loud but goes away once the bulb has reached full intensity.
