Default 30 gallon now a bit tight for an octo

In anticipation of my ocotopus I have been adding corals to my 30 gallon oceanic.

I am kind of liking the coral in there. If I was to keep just corals with a small Ciliatis Mantis shrimp in there could I get away with no skimmer with regular water changes. I may change my plans and keep my octopus in a 50 gallon at work with a couple of mushroom corals so I would need the skimmer there.

I was originally going to keep a 15 nano at my office with the mantis, but this kind of looks nice..... so now I am thinking twice.

Hope you have a good tight lid to keep the escape artist in the tank.

Also a skimmer would be a good idea. Since octopus don't live very long in captivity(or in the ocean for that matter.), it's probably going to foul the water up in a 30 real quick when it croaks. A skimmer might help keep the water clean long enough to get the octopus out of there when the time comes.

What kind of octopus are you planning on getting? Venomous?
