Default my sump

should I take the trickle filter out of my sump ? It's using bio balls..
If so then I would just have the refugium in there and the return pump... is that ok? I plan on getting a sklmmer to put in there too.

Yes, IMO you should get rid of the bio-balls, they are a nuisance unless maintained properly.

And get a skimmer ASAP.
