All I can say is wow! I'm not sure why he feels the need to replace his sandbed every few weeks, that's just insane. I wonder what the total cost of setting up that tank is?

There is a thread with this tank and info. already.. posted by Ed... title is "good morning reads" or something similar.

And I believe he changes his sandbed frequently because he does not like the look of discoloured/green sand. He also says that fresh, new sand is a lot more white and crisp and brings out more colours in his corals this way.

kinda makes me wonder why I bother with a 105gallon tank when I should be messing around with a much larger one. massive sized tanks like that just create something that can't be done in a smaller tank.

and 900kg of rock...yikes.
