Default sump lighting question

i have a 150 watt mh kicking around could i put it on my sump?? would that create too much heat on the bottom of my tank and make it blow the bottom out

I think it's waste of a MH. Just go the Canadian Tire and pick up a clip on light and Home depot sells 6500k bulbs and voila

Actually I have thought about putting a MH on my sump/fuge as well. I have a sheet of plywood between my tank and the sump but I think there will still be heat issues to deal with and would probably have to use a fan to get it out.
My thought on using the MH was to use a portion of the sump as a frag grow out by setting up racks in there.
Right now I probably don't have to worry too much about heat but if I ever get my stand enclosure it would definately be an issue.
