![]() I was looking in my today and I noticed this little oval shaped black snail thing crawling around my corals. What the heck !
It looks like some sort of slug but with a shell ...but it's kind of a flat shell.. maybe it's not a shell ? =p Whatever it was it has 2 antenae as well. Also the bottom of it is white. I tried to get a picture but my camera won't focus in very well. It's only about 1/2 inch. Any ideas? asherah PS : Looks alot like this one : http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showp...t=1&thecat=562 Last edited by asherah; 01-29-2006 at 04:59 AM. |

![]() sheesh.. crazy stuff tonight.
I got to put the snail back in the tank and I see a crab sitting on the rocks... what the heck.. I've had this rock for months and i've never seen these before. I scooped out the crab but apparently it's dead.... Looks like some kind of porcealian crab. It's really little.. light in colour with pinky sorta of mottled colouring on it. I wonder why it died.. asherah |

![]() Yeah more then likley a molt.
The small ones are the really really paranoid. Rarley coming out in the open. As they grow they usually get bolder, So there easyier to catch.

![]() Had a little guy come out of my rock after three months. Porcelain as well. Had him over a year, then, one day, after all the shyness and living in one rock, I've never seen him again. Miss the little bugger. You could usually only see his antenna sweeping the water but he was always there. First time I saw him he was about the size of a pencil eraser and I trapped him out of "his" rock in the middle of the night. He got to about an inch wide, molted many times, and then gone. That rock is now in my 90 so maybe he'll show up one day. I doubt it tho, it was about three months ago. Figi rock - best life I've seen for hitchhikers. Lots of bad crabs too, see hares, scallops, clams, sponges, etc.
Enjoy your new pal. Seemed to like phyto. I stopped dosing about a month before he dissapeared.
