Default Activated Carbon

I have an AquaClear Quick Filter for Powerheads. Does anyone have any opinions on activated carbon? I plan to put carbon in the filter to help with filtration.

Carbon filtration will be used only to supplement my skimmer, and live rock.

Hello Sam,

Make sure you get quality carbon, otherwise you'll get a tremendous algae boom.

Definitely. I still remember the time 12 years ago when I bought the Brighouse Pets brand charcoal for my mechanical filter. It wiped out my entire Discus tank (6 med Discus) in 1 day.

I bought the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals activated carbon this time.
