I've been using those for over 6 months now and havent had any problems with them......other than all four strips are to much light so i only use 2 at a time.

Unhappy

No...I made a post about them in a DIY thread dealing with LEDs. I don't post much but thought that was a good idea...

You can also get those in 16" chunks from princess Auto. theyr 5.97 each. thats what i used for my moon lights. just cut the cigarette adapeter off and heat shrunk it to the end of a 12V adapter.

Curious also if they're white or blue?

the ikea come in green, white and blue...i have the blue ones as well, have for a while now....2 of them penetrate my tank almost too much, and there are 4 of them
i like the white ones for viewing the tank when i don't have my halides on.

I think I just added another item to my holiday list. Are these plug-and-play? I make a horrible electrician and would rather not try if there is something easier, haha.

yep, you plug them together if you want to use all four, if not you hook a plug into each one, looks kinda like a mini phone jack, put little plastic end caps on and then your set. I sealed mine with silicone cause they aren't the tightest fit when connected up. you could use electricians tape too i guess...they are bright though for sure, i use them also for stereo lighting....
