You mean the 4X65W Lunar Aqualight? I have one kicking around that isn't in use right now that was perfect for my 50... You'll be able to grow anything soft... and it's a nice fixture... grows good corraline because it's not too bright... but if you want to do anything more than say some of the less light demanding LPS then I would get the Lunar Aqualight Pro with the 150W hqi lights in it...

Agree. If you plan on doing a reef tank, skip the "wasting of money steps" & go to the "upgrade" step right away. Trust the rest of us when we state that it'll save you hundreds of dollars in the next year or two. I went through the NO, T5, PC phases before getting MH & now I kick myself for wasting all that time & $$. Like we keep posting, learn from our mistake. However, if you're planning on doing fish, just go with NO since the fish don't need an expensive lighting sys anyways.

I just obtained one used and it is a very nice light but its in my FOWLR tank with a few tree corals and mushrooms. I would agree that if you want a reef go for MH.

ok- the aqualight pro with the pc and MH bulbs- do the bulbs last very long as far as MH's go or are there much better options out there for the cost?
