Default 175W 14,000K on tall tanks

Does anybody run 175W 14,000K MH on a tall tank? My tank is 26 inches tall and I currently run 175W 10,000K MH. Just wondering if I switch to 14,000Kbulbs if it will be bright enough and if it will be able to provide enough light to corals and clams sitting on the bottom.

Thanks

14k has a fraction of teh par output of 10k's. it also varys greatly on the brand of bulbs and the par output they have. i would probably stick with the 10k's.

you might be able to get away with a geissmann 13500k but I don't think they come in 175w mogul. I would recommend sticking with the 10000k..do you know what brand you're using now? There are some nice 10000k bulbs out there (ushio, sun aquatics, aqualine bushke, xm)

like stated above, you lose a lot of par for "prettiness" of a 14k bulb..some are even worse than 20000k bulbs
