![]() Ok Im sure many of you have read or are aware of Randy's recipes for 2 part alkalinity and calcium adding which is supposed to be a cost alternative to the expensive commercial stuff.
First of all does anyone use it, and 2nd, Where do you get your Epsom salts, and Dow flake. Baking soda is a no brainer sold as Arm and Hammer here as well. Is this recipe good enough to substitute for my kalkwasser? I drip kalk with my RO top off. |

![]() Epsom salts you can usually get at any grocery store around the pharmasy area. It's used in baths to relieve muscle sorness, and it's really cheap. It is also mostly a type of magnesium.

![]() Be very careful buying epsom salts as many are perfumed. I think you would be better to go to a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist if they carry a non-perfumed variety.....

![]() RCSS has plain epsom salt that I have used successfully in my cichlid tanks for years. Cheap, too.
Any drugstore should have them. |
