Default Preparing a Triggerfish delicasy

Hey. Just picked up some live clams/muscles from the grocery store today to feed my Trigger. Oysters too. How do most of you prepare them for feeding this beauty? Leave them in fresh water? boil them? does boiling them remove too much nutrients? Any suggestions? He's not quite big enough to crack through the shells himself yet. (3 inches)
