![]() Well if you looked at my other thread I had up a few days ago you have seen that I made a spray injector for my bullet 3. Well I also bought a Kent Venturi for my CV-426 venturi skimmer.
Both are a resounding success. IMO The bullet produced a lot more foam with the water input at a lower rate then with the beckett. I'd say a bit less noise and it sure made foam in a hurry. I'll test it out with a MAG9 and see what happens with it. If it works then I'll be estatic. The new venturi on the 426 is making I'd say about 50% more bubbles and is going crazy for foam. Very happy all in all. :D :D |

![]() Bit of an update.
426 worked awesome. I'd say it was working about 25% harder. It sure pulled out the junk. I ws cleaning the cup every second day. So now the bullet is online. With the spray injection. Holy quiet. Can't hear it. at all. no hose for silencing or anything. The venturi for the 426 was noisy than this thing. It is complately silent. It is a bit more turbulent than the beckett was for the foam but this may be due to it having to break in again. I will try hoooking it up to my MAG9 and see how it runs with that. I have a feeling it will be overkill. More updates as I feel they are warranted. :D |

![]() Good to hear. So how small of a pump do you think that spray injector could be paired with? I have most of my parts together for a 3/4 size version of the one you built. I think i'll try it with a mag5 and see if it works any better than my current "skimmer". (oceanic plus siers model 6)

![]() Clinton,
If you are going to make one. Don't do as I did with this one. Make it so you can dis-assemble it. I didn't and it appears I drilled the holes too big. 1/16th isn't small enough. I have been sitting and watching it for the last little while and I can't get a fine enough spray and bubbles for it to work properly. With that said if you can build one small enough and that is easy to take apart I'd say go for it. I was going to try running this with my MAG7 but I forgot I put it on as a closed loop. ;) and I got a little frustrated at my obvious mistake of hole size. So it is now off the skimmer and my beckett is back on. Within 15 minutes I had a 2" column of dy foam running up the riser tube. live and learn huh? I'll try it again. I know what I need to do for the next one. If it works it may save people from buying a massive pumps for a skimmer. As for what skimmers it will work on. Well it for the most part would have to be some kind of beckett style or downdraft skimmer. I don't know what type of skimmer yours is so I can't really say how well it would work. ![]() Hello,
My my. Darren, always have surprises. Well, if it works great, maybe you can consider marketing it as "The Ultimate Injector" in a retrofit kit for ETSS, Bullet, etc. to all the major online retailers. Titus |
