Default 14K Metal Halide Bulbs

I am running a 14k Metal Halide bulb on a standard ballast. I am going to buy another 14k but I am wondering, they are Hamilton 14K's with less PAR rating than others, should I add 10k HO's for added coral growth or does 2 x 14k MH work well?

Most seem to be running HO Actinics with their MH lights but I do not think that is needed with 14K's.

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks

No input ?

Should I set myself up with HO's to make a dusk and dawn effect or are the 14K's the end all.

So many discussions but I just want to hear from others!

Thanks

I would still go with some actinics for the dawn/dusk effect. The corals may not need it, but the fish & people may appreciate it.

I have my Aqualight 4x65 watt still. I was thinking about selling it then buying a HO workhorse ballast etc but now I am thinking maybe I could just use the 4x65 watt PC parts and install them in the hood?

Any input there?
