Default Clown and Pimply Mushroom

Recently I have noticed that my female clown has been biting at a pimply mushroom. Does anybody know why she is doing this?

The shroom is fairly close to the frogspawn she is hosting in. Could this be why?

It could also be that the female is getting ready to lay eggs. Clowns have been documented to chew the tentacles on their host anemone. This could be an adaptation of that type of behaviour.
