Default Things I've experienced only due to Reefkeeping...

1.) Introducing myself as XTASIA with the 65g SW and 33g FW... to strangers...

2.) Announcing to the Condo buzzer while an audience behind waits for his turn that I'm here to meet 'Hard4SoftCorals'.

3.) Realising that SHF's FULL name has been legally changed to 'SeaHorseFanaticAnthony'

4.) Meeting Canreef's 6th 'Robert'.

5.) Feeling ashamed for having an Algae Bloom.

6.) Vulgar Sea Cucumber and Clam Jokes..

7.) Found that two completely contradictory methods are BOTH correct.

8.) Met a ton of really super cool people... some who call me up daily to check up on my tank.. not my health.. my tank... :P

9.) Got invited to a virtual stranger's house and left with 6 FREE frags.

10.) Wasted several afternoons doing nothing except looking at my tank..

(Share some of your experiences!)

SeaHorse_Fanatic will become famous soon enough

1) Plan to travel 5 hours & 2 ferry rides (each way) up the coast to pick up coral in Powell River.

2) Plan to travel to Keremios, Calgary, Edmonton & maybe Prince George this August to visit other fellow Canreefers (don't tell the wife that's our summer vacation plans )

3) Take on a p/t job at OA & driving from Burnaby to Delta to "play" with corals that aren't my own & scrub off algae off somebody else's tanks (despite a super crazy busy schedule).

4) Cram in 4 tanks in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment.

5) Sometimes spend more $ on fish food than on people food

6) Go to Chin Lee's place for a free acro-eating clown goby & leave with a lovebird & cage as well.

7) Spend most of my disposable income on fish, corals, salt, equipment, tanks, supplies........... instead of new clothes or travelling.

8) Spend my one day off in 2 months going on a tank tour & think later that, "Wow, that's one of the best times I've had in since my wedding." (Again, don't tell the wife. Oh, oh. Hi honey, I was just joking. Don't hurt me..........)

9) Met Willow & found out (from Xtasia) that "she's not a beautiful red-headed bombshell" (inside joke)

10) Spend several hours of each very busy day talking about fish & corals on the phone, in person or on the internet to people all over Canada.

11) Am several thousand dollars poorer but feel much more fulfilled by participation in this ADDICTION.

12) Met some of the best people & hopefully life-long friends.

MMM......lets see........

1) finally agreeing with my wife size does matter(upgrading to a bigger tank)

2) Comming to the realization that I'm a fish geek

3) Spending this much money on something NOT illegal

4) Watching a snail crawl for hours

5) Sitting around a big screen TV watching fish swim and hearing ooo's & ahhh's

6) Walking out of Jon's house with a fist full of baggys and not caring if the cops were there

7) Meeting Allen ( yes its changed my life)

8) Feeling bad cause somebody shuts there tank down.....(I have been wearing black for a week)

to name but a few........
