asian arowana?

Just checking to see if anyone on here also keep asain arowana's


I just starting keeping these amazing fishes and have a lot to learn about them

I have some question to some of you who have kept these fish on what you feed them. The eight that i have now only eats superworms and crickets, but crickets smells bad and have read superworms are not that good for them. So i want to know what you feed your arowanas?

Pinky mice... depending on the fish's size.

I am not so me or my staff could handle feeding mice

I have seem a lot of videos of arowana own feeding frog but not sure if anyone in calgary sell feeder frogs

Mice are a horrible idea they are hard to digest and messy I feed smelt

How were you able to get them to eat smelts?

mine right now will only accept live food

Myself I just cut it in half dropped it in and they normally float so the fish liked that and it would eat it

Dave, try soaking the worms and crickets in garlic for a few days and then soak the new food in garlic. After a few days feed old food and new food at the same time with both soaked in garlic. The idea is to hide the new food smell.

i will have to try that


these guys are so picky when it comes to food and changes to the tank.

had one of my violet fusion super reds go on a hunger strike for two weeks after i switch from crickets to superworms lol tough watching a fish not eat for that long
