Default Ecotech vortech - rebuild kit for dryside

Has anyone else "rebuilt" their dryside for the MP10 or MP40 (in my case)?

just as disappointing as having to pay top dollar for these things, and then give them continuing TLC via bearing replacements - is the lack of quality of any good literature or guidance on how to rebuild these things.

I'd consider myself pretty mechanically inclined and have to say that rebuilding this as I would a motor, just doesn't seem to suffice. New bearing for the shaft, complete propeller assembly and the wet side is the culprit for making a ton of noise. One problem as well, is the nut on the end of the shaft not tight enough, and then too tight and stripping threads.

**** poor support on this process from what I see, for what apparently must have either some specfics to it, or just shouldn't be attempted due to the success / fail rate and Ecotech should pull all this kind of support hardware to intimidate people from doing it.

or is it just me, and that I should stick to being able to fix almost everything else but saltwater equipment?
