The wasp & the hummingbird

Wanted to share this weird relationship. My wife has a hummingbird feeded, hanging outside the kitchen window. Its used by a pair of hummingbirds that live near it.

However this year they share the feeder with this large wasp. Now thats not so unusual but its the way the wasp follows the birds around that is. Always together. One of the birds arrives and the wasp follows close behind. You can sit in the sunroom and watch the wasp following them around.

The two of them sit side by side, eating at the feeder and then leave together.

Only in nature.
