Footprint

I see so many people talking about having this size of a footprint... what does it mean?

Its the amount of floor space something will take up when placed there. :D

So that will be the actual size of our stand (which is a bit larger than the tank since it will house the quarantine tank and possibly house a larger tank once we are "experts" at reefing Hehe :D )??

It could refer to that but most often in aquaria circles it refers to the footprint of a tank. For example 72 gal and 90 gal both have a 48" x 18" footprint so they could use the same stand but the 72 is around 18" tall while the 90 is 24".

And here I thought footprint referred to the dents in my floor from spending hours in front of my tank staring, wishing, dreaming, planning, scheming, hoping, fixing, praying, worshipping, cursing, cleaning, scraping, searching, questioning, loving, tapping, seeking and crying!
