Using a 90 before return pump inlet?

Just wondering how detrimental it would be to use a 90 degree elbow before the intake of a Sequence Hammerhead pump? I'm trying to maximize the amount of room I have next to my sump as well as line up the outlet of the pump closer to the hole drilled in the stand. Thanks in advance
