Default Calling all PS3 guru's , need some help please

I am tryin to figure out how to play a video file on my PS3. Is there a certain conversion program I need to use to make it playable from a USB stick? I already know that the stick has to be formatted to Fat32 & have done that already.

According to all the info I have found so far the video file has to be converted to a PS3 MP4 format. I have the files in both AVI. & MP4. But neither work.

Why not make a media server on your PC then you wouldn't have to put your files in your USB.

goto ps3mediaserver.org. if your file isn't playing, could it be that you havent updated your ps3 yet?

does the usb show up at all? does it show up empty? I had the same problem, but found that you need to press the triangle to "show all" and then I could play .avi and such... might work for you....

It does show up but when I hit the triangle it sits there forever & doesn't show anything. It should show up within a few minutes, right? When I back out of the USB it freezes up for a few minutes as well.
