Default tank moving day

Well we moved the tank today to the new house and I just wanted to thank Brad and Adam for all there help. Because I am redoing some stuff I only moved my stuff into a holding tank while I am building.

Here are some pics

the holding tank (all muddy as we dumped 300 lbs of sand in first)

My skimmer (this think kicks ass, pulling stuff out like mad)

Brad and Adam unpacking some corals

My surviving Millipora

Tank starting to clear up 3 hours later

alright the sea clone wasn't the skimmer that was running

all and all it went prety smoth except for me breaking my calcium reactor and one tank that got broke. so I have to see how fast I can get a new end put it.

Hey Steve, Hope everything works out for you. Fun huh? Question, whats the purpose of the upside down u section on the effluent of your skimmer? As well did you use all old water or did you have some new?

the upside down "U" maintains the level in my slimmer as the drain is more efficient than the pump

I used 90% new water as I had the pool up and running 2 days befor the move, the only old water we used was the stuff the fish and corals rode in. I think we dumped about 100 gall of old water in the front yard.

I checked on things this morning anf alll the fishies are swimming around and the water is clear. the rocks are covered with silt so I blew some of them off. guess I will be doing this for a few days.

Well congrats on the move to your new pad Steve

Looks like your gonna be busy with wet and dry hands for a few years now

I hope things go

smoth
for you now

Did you have to move everything else as well Oh let me guess, you and the boy's moved the tank and you got your wife and kids to move the rest right

And if I were to guess, I would say that in the third image it looks like Brad is contemplating on going in for a dip

Steve, maybe if your not using that old Sea"clunker" you could give it to Brad and he could work his magic on it- for some poor soul who has a Prizm model

cheers, Rich

no not at all, it used to overfow on start up befor I did this. but you have to be carefull not to totaly submerge the outlet or the skimmer becomes a surge maker

Um what magic would that be? this one is already modified as much as yuo can go except for the air stone. seing as one tank got broke I might have to use it on a 20 gal for the mantis.

Jack I am not sure on the age but I got it just befor christmas and it was about 1/3 that size. it used to be a beautiful tri color milli with a base of blue, oarnge tips and a grean highlight on the branches. sence the over heat event it has been brown which is what color it was when I got it so I am confadent it will regain its color.
