![]() I just started windsurfing, on some free gear. Only problem is, the gear is so old, that its not worth crap I'm told. A 6m sail, long narrow board and 1pc mast. Tie on boom. Wondering who here windsurf's, and if they either have used equip they may want to sell, or maybe even get together and surf a bit if we come down to the lower mainland this summer? I only have lakes here, lower winds, and they keep changing direction on me... Grrrrr

![]() The 80's called. They want their gear back !!!
![]() I dabble a bit in windsurfing. I have ancient gear too but it works. I'm more of a sailor though, I kind of gave up on windsurfing because I can kill *any* wind by rigging up a windsurfer. No, really, I'm not making this up. All I have to do is rig up and the "wind warning" winds will dissipate. My brother is more the windsurfer, he'll still make the occasional trek down to the gorge or Squamish to go. He's also getting into kiteboarding. In Calgary it's almost a completely dead sport. ![]() Kiteboarding on the other hand really seems to be picking up the slack. Still the same problem for people in my area though.

![]() I posted 'Does anyone on here windsurf' a few months ago... you were one of the only ones to reply and it doesnt look like much has changed. http://canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=50932
However I did find a few sites that might help you out. This looks like a pretty good shop, I bought some gear for myself off of these guys: http://www.airtimeboardsports.com/ZenCart/ They have a link on this site to a local forum for windsurfers too where you might get a better response: http://thewindsurfer.com/ I'm planning to take a lesson in Jericho later this summer: http://www.windsure.com/index.html

![]() I'm still here. I've got a full set of used gear but I havent had a chance to use it yet. I only know one person up here who knows how to windsurf and we're both too busy with work at the moment to get together. In July I'll take a trip to Van and get some lessons. Then I'll be able to use West Lake which is just outside of Prince George as well as Fraser Lake and Francois Lake which are both just over an hours drive and get plenty of wind.
