			 Hi all.

Is there any concern over switching between different types of aquarium salt? I have only had this tank a month, and I have been using Instant Ocean. But, Petcetra had RedSea on 50% off, and I'm never one to pass up a bargain. Can I just start using it, or should I switch back and forth between the two kinds? Kind of like switching your dog to a new kibble? |

From everything I have read you will want to do it gradually mixing from old to new. Just remember that nothing good happens quickly in a salt water aquarium.

Petcetera is going "out of business".....kinda saw that coming with all there high prices.

50% percent off is probably normal price now

Yes, there are some good deals at 50% off, but the food is not included in that (which is still overpriced). But, they had some aquarium heaters at 75% off, if you interested.

You could probably make the change over 2-3 water changes...

1st Change: 25% new salt, 75% old salt 2nd Change: 50/50 3rd Change: 75% new salt, 25% old salt Salt changes typically, in my experience, tend to have more affect on corals than it would in a FOWLR tank..
