Default 20k radiums, any opinions?

I am thinking about putting a 400 watt radium over the tank (75G) has anyone had experiences with this bulb? Another thought I had was to supplement with some 6500k OD t8s so it is not soo blue. Any opinions are more than welcome.
Thanks and have a great night everyone,
Kelly

Kelly, if you do a search here and RC, you'll find enough opinions on Radiums and ballasts to run them to keep you reading all summer!!

Hey Kelly,
On the new 230 I plan on having 2 400w radiums and 2 250w Iwasaki's, this is on a 6 foot tank. I put them on in combination in my 90g recently and the color is gorgeous.

Brad is right, you can read forever on "Radiums".

cheers

I recently added a radium on a 430 watt son agro ballast to my 75 gallon. I really like the light. It is a nice bluish/white, but not as bright as a 400 watt 10k or Iwasaki bulb.

As mentioned there is a lot of discussion on this board about the subject, so I won't bother with more details.

I have purchased a new 150 gallon to be set up in July/August and will probably go with two radiums and a 10k. I really like the color of the radium, but I would think that can be somewhat subjective as some still find it too blue. I certainly don't.
