Jon, yes on the lighting. The cap is going to pose a problem in the next 2 weeks. It has about 3/16" until it breaks the surface

That's not much room. You should let it grow and see what happens when it reaches the water surface or above. Take some pics every few days. It woudl be great pictures to have!

I don't have a lot of choice, really. I have nowhere to move it to, so it will have to take care of itself when it hits air!!

I see my adoptee's parents there now, and they are actually recognizable to me...
