![]() Does anyone know how to sex a mantis shrimp, because i dont know what gender mine is but i would like to know... Also the shrimp is about 5"...

![]() what species is it? some have distinct features that allow easy sexing. otherwise you get to do it the fail-proof, but harder way.
You would have to look under the mantis (a sight rarely seen in tank) between that last pair of pereopods (walking legs). If you see a pair of sticks there (gonopods), it's a boy. If you either don't see the sticks or see a pair of holes (gonopores can be hard to see, especially on smaller specimens), it's a girl. |
