Default Refugium Light?

I have had the same bulb over my fuge for a long long time now and need to replace it soon. Problem is, I don't know what kind it is and where I got it. Its a 23 watt CF. All it says on the bulb is "cool white". Anyone know of a good colored fuge bulb? Most of them do not have a K rating on the bulb, so I have had a hard time figuring it out. I may use a few of these over my new display soon too because its just going to be FOWLR with some macro. So I want them to be a nice colour. Anyways, any help would be great!

Phillips "Daylight" bulbs are 6700K and are available everywhere (London Drugs, Home Depot, etc.)

Yeah thanks. I was just at Home Depot and bought them. They are some of the few that actually have the K right on the bulb. I would prefer a higher K rating but for non aquarium bulbs, that might be the best I can get. Anyone know of a CF bulb that is closer to 10, 000? Im guessing they are not really made.

Seem to remember from my indoor plant growing days a 6500K was a good choice. Being a little warmer was okay but not cooler (eg toward 10,000k). Since for a fuge would think would still apply.

6700K is about as high as you're going to get for the screw-in CFs. However, I did just see a 40W bulb available!

Coralife makes 10w and 20w 50/50 CF. Don't know where to get them locally. King Ed has some screw-type CF. Not so great for growing algae, but nicer to look at.

Regards,
Nevin

These are actually mainly going to be used for viewing fish in my display. Its basically a FOWLR with some macro planted. I just like how fish look under something closer to 10, 000 K.
