Default What the heck is my clownfish doing ?

I go look in the tank and she is down on the sand beside a rock and once in awhile she does a fast swimming sort of side to side and the sand moves.

why is she doing that ? Just for some information I dont have another clownfish in there.

My 2 clownfish do the exact same thing when they are in their anemone. Not sure if they are keeping the area clean or what. It does a great job of stirring the sand all around them though.

Yes, that is what they do. My tank is bare bottom all around their anemone. Expect to see them also pickup individual rocks, swim them away from their "area" and drop them. Entertaining little fellas.

The funniest thing is when they try and try to pick up the larger pieces and can't. They just don't seem to want to give up.
