Default Just some misc shots .. practising..

Still just trying to get a handle on optimal manual settings. Hit to miss ratio is getting a little better as I increase the shutter speed but hitting upon an optimal aperture is still eluding me some. I can hear my old violin teacher saying "Practise, practise, practise. Ok you know what, you're just not focusing. I can't teach you if you don't want to learn." Err, oops, guess that memory was a little too high fidelity, never mind!!

Gorgonian frag. Slowest growing sucker, wish I knew what I could do to get him to go beyond 1".

Math urchin.. Not something you'd really like to step on is he?

Potters angel. The toss-to-keep photo ratio of this girl is .. well .. up there. She just won't sit still for anything!

Copperbanded butterfly... He seems to not mind the camera. I find bits and pieces of him sneaking into the frame of just about any shot I take of the tank.

Very nice, Tony. I love the gorgonian, too.

Great pics Tony. Heh, my wrasse is like your potters angel, impossible to get a decent shot of (well maybe 1 out of every 200) but his butt is in 50% of the pics I take of other stuff

My new camera has a continuous mode on it, if you hold the button down and try and keep the fish in the view finder 1 of the 50 or so pics will be ok. You just have to do alot of deleting afterward.

I would love to know the exact setting that some people are using when taking photos. I think I am much like you Tony and struggle to get even 1 good picture out of 100.

The problem with that is the settings from one camera may not work with another camera, at least in my experience. My camera works quite well when I adjust the white balance per specimen. I know nothing about taking pics of fish though, I don't even try.
