Default Placing Pulsing Xenia

Would it be ok to place pulsing zenia(spelling?) on the sand in a 30" deep tank with 150W HQI 10000K lighting? or should it be up high on the reef.

That will be fine, xenia usually likes to anchor onto rocks though.

I should probably clarify, The xenia (not zenia) will be placed on some rock but way down at the bottom of the tank. The rok bed is parially burried in the sand. I just want to make sure that it will receive the proper amount of light. Also the flow will be moderate.

Post placement

I have placed mine halfway up my tank roughly 10 inches down from the water line and in a good flow area, its doing really well and growing like a weed. I also have MH lighting.

No problem in the very bottom of your tank. It will climb up if it can, but that is regardless of light.
