![]() how hard would it be to drill a tank that already has livestock in it , is there a way to do it without breaking it down , what if i transfer my livestock to a rubbermaid cont or something whilst i drill the tank. tank is a 20 g and i want to plumb a sump with some adequate flow but all the overflow boxes seem to be huge and take up space and that is the whole reason i am doing this . to eliminte unsightly objects in my tank ie skimmer and such . so as per my question is there a way to do this or do i have to break my tank down completely?

![]() From what I've heard, drilling small tanks with thin glass is tricky at the best of times. Probably safer to empty the contents into some rubbermaid totes & drill it properly. What if halfway through drilling your glass cracks? With plexi its a different story, but 20g is still a short tank to be draining down a little to drill at the top.

![]() Buy a new 20, get it drilled, and then transfer the contents over. Sell the old 20 for some of your money back.

![]() Best thing to do is buy a 20 and get it drilled. Shouldn't cost more than $50, and you can sell your old one for 20.
