Default 20k and sps

As you may or may not know, I'm setting up a 20g SPS tank. The 175w MH retro kit I'm getting comes with a 20k XM bulb. I really like the color, it has a nice blue shade to it. Not as yellow as the 10k. My question would be, is this light going to work? I have no supplimental actinics running with it. Just the MH.
Thanks
Marty

Yup, it will work fine. 20k is my preferred bulb choice. The only thing you'll find is that growth will be slightly slower than a 10k bulb, but I think that's a good thing. Especially in a 20g.

Anyone use the 175w version of the 20K Coralvue. I,ve seen the 400,s and they are very nice. Thought I would switch the new 90 from 10K Ushio,s to them.

If it's any help, I couldn't believe the color changes in my sps after going from 10k to 14k 175's in my 48. My pure brown acro now has electric blue tips and my honey blonde acro is purple. Growth rates slowed a bit, but the colors are worth it in my opinion.
