![]() I am considering a 3 foot high tank, but was stuck on lighting. I will not consider MH, so it is down to T5 vs. LED. Would T5's be able to penetrate deep enough on a 3 foot high tank?

![]() I have t5s on my three foot tall tank and they are dim compared to LEDs
The part with LEDs is much brighter.

![]() I have a 29.5" high tank, don't do it, go 26" max high, too hard to aquascape

![]() I do believe leds will penetrate deeper ad they are a more concentrated light source vs. T5. Also different optics will give you more spread or more depth. As for the depth of the tank, a tall tank looks stunning but make sure you are able to get it in it for aquascaping.

![]() My 300 is 30" deep and it is a bit of a pain to work in, I would not recommend going 36". My LEDs are doing great to this depth.

My tank is 30" deep, and I wouldn't do that again. It does give me added volume for the area of the tank, but it really is a nuisance to work in. I have a Vertex LED fixture which lights very well at the depth, I don't even have it set to maximum out put. I originally had 250W MHs on it.

![]() If you like bigger fish. The taller tank is worth it.
As far as working in it. If you don't mind getting wet or using claws and scrapper poles. http://www.marinedepot.com/Eheim_Pow...MTASHH-vi.html Is the best tool you can have in your arsenal against algae.
