![]() I thought I might as well start a build thread, albeit a slow moving one.
Tank - 265 - 84"x24"x 30" High ![]() Stand - Custom built wall unit. ![]() Sump - 75 Gallon ( if it fits in the stand ) If not I have 2 - 30 Gallon tanks I might link together Skimmer - Bubble Master 250 Calcium Reactor - Aquatic Essentials - If I can get it fixed - Canada Post damaged it in shipping Return Pump - Squence Dart Closed Loop - Sequence Dart Lighting - 3x 400w HQI Pendants 14k UV - Lifeguard QL-25 2x TLF Phosban Reactors The cabinets should be installed in about 7 weeks, then I have to drop the metal stand and tank in the stand. The counter top guys will come back in and do a cut out around the tank so the bottom trim of the tank is below the counter top. I'm starting to get excited, things are starting to move along. ![]() Crude math suggests that you are pushing maybe 500 lbs down each leg/foot. That's a fair amount of psi and you'll put a good dent in whatever floor that is on. If you could slip a 3"x3" metal plate under each foot you could distribute that load over a bit wider area.
I don't know what floor you are putting it on. It might be fine.

![]() It's sitting on 2x4 plates on carpet over concrete in my basement at the moment, they were added after this picture was taken. Once the cabinets go in it will be on concrete only.

![]() The edges are a bit underlit. It took me a while to find that mondo stag on the left. Your tank is huge! Even with that bucket sized colony it looks lost in there. It seems that you're getting really good polyp extension already. That's awesome. If you need anything else, just let me know.

![]() Looks good. Go easy on the lighting period because remember, many of those corals you got from me were shaded so you gotta ease them into full lighting. Your lights are 400 watts as well, so you don't wanna shock em.

Thanks for confriming my thoughts... when I put everything I backed my lighting down to 5 hours per day for the next little while. I haven't noticed any bleaching yet, I've been keeping a good eye out for it.
