![]() i am building a sump for my 60 gallon.
i am going to have a 1/2 inch PVC out and was wondering what kind of pump and what size of PVC i should use for the returne. i am going to split the returne into 2. thank you.

![]() How is the water getting to the sump? What size plumbing are you using? 1/2" pvc isn't much. I'd go 3/4" as a minimum. But first let's figure out how much water is going into the sump.

my tank is not drilled so i will have to have an over flow. i am going to have to make a custome sump out of acrilic. i can do this my self.

![]() So let's say an overflow that does 600gph. You could then use a MAG 7 or 9.5 as a return. You'll use 1" PVC from the overflow to the sump, and could get away with 3/4" return line. If you're going to split it into 2, then reduce to 1/2" at the output to increase velocity a bit.

![]() On mine i have 1inch out of the overflow to sump and have 3/4 going back to the tank with a 900mag
