AquaGiant's HQB-2000 return pump

Anyone used these or know anything about these? I was going to use a Maxijet 1600 for my return but don't see a way to really attach a pipe to the unit. Plus it's not all that powerful. I'm not looking for something to have enough power to act as a powerhead but to bring the water back up from the sump. Also I understand that sometimes a slower flow through the sump is better than faster so I want to install a valve at some point in the line. Anyways, I digress, looking for a cheap return pump that is quiet and energy efficient. Emphasis on low cost.
