Default Bulk Neoprene source???

Anyone know where I can get bulk Neoprene for making gaskets? I'm not happy with the stuff I'm currently using for my skimmers and reactors. Thanks!

Steve, thanks, but don't worry about it. I found some at $8 for a 2 x 6 foot sheet. Cuts my current gasket cost by 90%

There used to be a company at the foot of granville and SW marine in Vancouver that made gaskets for industry. They had a whole warehouse full of gasket stock in all sizes and thicknesses. The name escapes me at the moment, but it should be in the yellow pages.

Or if you want to mail order there is www.mcmaster.com
they ship duty free and brokerage free through Purolater at a reduced rate. Great place to mail order anything hardware related.

You sure picked an old thread to pull up!! Fact is, I switched to using O rings instead. I'd never consider using gaskets now. And a 6" O ring costs about .40!!

I don't want to make gaskets. I need some sort of pads to eliminate my skimmer pump vibration. I use filter foam right now with great success, but I am not very happy with the material.

You could still use O rings. Some of them are quite thick.

I have used mouse pads for external water pumps. Don't know how they stand up if they are under water.
