Default Float valve

I am looking for a good float valve to place in my sump to control the water intake from my resovoir (rubbermaid container).

I am currently using a float valve that you would find on a humidifier.

The problem is when I use Kalkwasser in my resovoir it builds up a crusty residue on the float valve in a few days and stops the drips of water. I have to be able to attach the float valve to the side of my sump and my sump is about 1/2 full of water.

Also, where would you buy a good float valve in Calgary?

Any suggestions?

Jim
