Question about replacing RO membrane

(.. I haven't actually replaced a RO membrane yet

)

So if I have my replacement membrane ... do I want to get it wet before putting it in? Or just put in and go? Do I want to discard the first little bit of water that comes out of it? Or is it good to go, right from the beginning?
